An art gallery established in Kinigi houses conservation themed art, cultural objects and a lot of handicrafts made by local women and youth groups living in these areas. It serves as an arena for the local musical, dance and drama acts by locals. The project is intended to also identify, tap into, train and nurture any form of artistic talent and then develop it.

Handicrafts and the arts help in the reduction of poverty, improving livelihoods and then ultimately helping in the conservation of the Volcanoes National Park and the surrounding environment because of the reduction of over dependence on forest products and wildlife for a living.

Timuntu Travel encourages the sharing of knowledge, skills and overall interaction and experiences among travellers and the local communities. This contributes to the promotion of more sustainable tourism and to a better appreciation of the natural tourist attractions in the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda.
