Angola Practical Information


All visitors to Angola from Canada, Britain,other members of the European Union, Australia and the United States of America are obliged to have a passport valid for nine months after the intended period of stay, and with two blank pages. Visas for Angola are required for all the nationals mentioned.

Since April 2018, the Angolan authorities have implemented measures facilitating the issuance of short stay / tourist visas for nationals of countries of the European Union. It is now possible to obtain a visa at Luanda airport on condition of having a visa pre-authorization.

With children:

According to local regulations on the entry and exit of minors, foreigners or South Africans, in force since June 1, 2015, all parents are required to present proof of parentage with their children, at the entry as at the exit of the South African territory. This measure applies at any border point in the country.

Vaccination against yellow fever is compulsory to enter Angolan territory.
Recommended vaccines: DTPP, hepatitis B, meningococcal meningitis (essential), malaria (essential), typhoid fever, hepatitis A.

Note: travellers without a yellow fever vaccination record are not allowed to stay in Angola and are immediately returned to their country of origin. The international vaccination certificate can be requested upon arrival at the airport.

Following the global pandemic, Covid measures and tests can be applied from your country of origin and in your country of destination. Please consult your Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Health.

Driving License

Local and international driving licenses are required.
