A valid passport and visa are required. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date you expect to leave Eritrea.
Some travellers depending on their country of origin may be visa exempt.

Note:A Yellow Fever vaccination is required from those coming from countries with risk of Yellow Fever transmission. The international vaccination certificate can be requested upon arrival at the airport.

However, it is highly recommended to travel with a local driver.
